what is a donor-advised fund?

Generally, a donor advised fund (“DAF”) is a separately identified fund or account that is maintained and operated by a section 501(c)(3) organization.

A DAF comprises contributions made by an individual donor or donors, but it is legally controlled by the organization that sponsors the account. Despite this legal control, the donor generally has the ability to advise the sponsoring organization with respect to the distribution of funds from the DAF.

As a section 501(c)(3) public charity, MFM may already be included as an eligible recipient of distribution from your DAF.
