Our Impact

Bringing service members home. Building stronger communities.

Measuring Our Impact

Building Stronger Communities

Before traveling home, junior enlisted service members dedicate their time to nonprofit organizations and community initiatives at their duty stations, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond a single flight.

Tens of thousands of volunteer hours have been served to communities across the United States and around the world. Supporting food banks, youth programs, veterans organizations, environmental projects, disaster relief efforts, and countless local nonprofit organizations, community centers, and base quality of life programs.

Common Volunteer Focus Areas:

Military Families, Veterans & Base Communities

Supporting fellow service members through organizations like the USO, Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS), Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Airman’s Attics, family readiness programs, and military relief organizations.

Civic & Youth Support

Coaching youth sports, mentoring young people, supporting schools and libraries, serving with Scouts and Boys & Girls Clubs, and strengthening community and senior programs.

Poverty Alleviation & Food Security

Helping fight hunger through food banks, soup kitchens, meal delivery programs, clothing ministries, and organizations that provide essential resources to families in need.

Faith-Based Organizations

Serving local churches, chapels, ministries, and faith-based outreach programs that provide community support and humanitarian assistance.

Animal Care

Volunteering with humane societies, animal shelters, rescue organizations, wildlife rehabilitation, and therapeutic animal programs.

Disaster Response & Community Aid

Supporting organizations such as the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, volunteer fire and EMS departments, and United Way to help communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises.

A Growing International Footprint

Our mission reaches installations around the globe.

From Alaska to Italy, Hawaii to Japan, Miles for Military has helped junior enlisted service members volunteer in their local communities before traveling home to the people who matter most.

Miles for Military will fly eligible service members from anywhere in the world to any U.S. state or U.S. territory, regardless of duty station.

A Triple Return on Investment

Every flight creates ripple effects that extend far beyond one individual.

  1. Service Members gain family and community connection, leadership skills, and psychosocial benefits of volunteering.

  2. Communities and Nonprofit Organizations gain meaningful opportunities to engage with the military and access to volunteers who fill critical needs.

  3. Our Nation gains stronger military families, healthier service members, and greater connection between the American people and those who serve.
