Miles for Military offers a unique Flight Awards Program designed to make homecomings a reality for our most junior service members

Our program reinforces a pay-it-forward mentality and seeks to serve those who serve their communities

Service members who meet the eligibility criteria, including the required volunteer hours, will be able to apply for no-cost travel

HOW IT WORKS

Joining Miles for Military is a simple and straightforward process

Volunteer

Active-duty component service members volunteer with 501(c) charity within last 12-months of requested travel dates.
Miles for Military will confirm volunteer hours with the listed point of contact for the charity.

Application

Eligible service members complete an application for an airline ticket with Miles for Military at least a month prior to their requested travel.
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Active-duty component
- Rank E1-E4
- Completed 25+ hours of volunteer service with a 501(c)(3) in the current calendar year (to be verified by Miles for Military team)

Application Review

Our team will review and confirm your hours and organize travel options based on your destination and leave dates.
Please note that the volunteer hours will be directly verified by the Miles for Military team.

Book Travel

Once volunteer hours are verified, the Miles for Military team will confirm travel details with the service member prior to booking flights.
The Miles for Military Team will book the service member’s flight
Please note the following:
- It is helpful to be flexible with travel dates/locations to keep flights as low as possible.
- Flights will be booked at the most economical rate.
- Limit $1,000 for airfare

Fly home

Service members fly anywhere within the contiguous 48 states for holidays, family celebrations, or emergencies.

*Please be aware that your application must be submitted with 25+ verified volunteer hours already completed at least one month prior to your requested travel dates. We are unable to process requests that are less than one month from the date of travel.

As a reminder, Miles for Military does not cover the cost of any adjustments, upgrades, or changes after your flight booking. This includes:

Seat Upgrades: If you choose to upgrade your seat, you will be responsible for completing the transaction.

Checked Bags: Any checked baggage fees or changes must be managed and paid by you.
In-Flight Purchases: Purchases made during the flight (such as food, beverages, or Wi-Fi) are your responsibility.
