PO3 Rachel C., a U.S. Navy sailor originally from the Chicago area, is flying home with the help of Miles for Military to be with her daughter for her final reconstructive surgery following years of treatment for a cleft lip and palate. Rachel enlisted later in life after raising her children and is now stationed far from home, making important family moments difficult to attend. After volunteering with the USO since June 2025, Rachel completed the volunteer service required to apply for a free round-trip flight through Miles for Military, allowing her to be there for a milestone that means the world to her.
